A New DNA Implementation of Finite State Machines
نویسندگان
چکیده
Two new models for implementing finite state machines with DNA computing are presented. The operations used in both models are simple and easy to implement. Operations include immobilization of DNA strands onto paramagnetic beads, DNA hybridization, DNA ligation and restriction enzyme cleavage. Use of paramagnetic beads greatly reduces performance time and demonstrates DNA chip compatibility of the models. In one of the models, the length of DNA strands created during the intermediate operations are independent of the length of the input string. Optical extraction in both models detects the final state. * This research was partially supported by University of Tehran. † To whom correspondence should be addressed, E-mail: [email protected].

Restricted cascade and wreath products of fuzzy finite switchboard state machines
A finite switchboard state machine is a specialized finite state machine. It is built by binding the concepts of switching state machines and commutative state machines. The main purpose of this paper is to give a specific algorithm for fuzzy finite switchboard state machine and also, investigates the concepts of switching relation, covering, restricted cascade products and wreath products of f...
متن کاملOn implementation of online testable state machines
This paper presents a technique for designing self–checking finite state machines that uses a 2-hot code for state encoding. The registers and output logic in resulting state machines are testable online. A new method for designing the output logic is also proposed in this paper Key-Words: Fault Detection, State Machines, Online Testing, Transient Faults, Permanent Faults
متن کاملPetri Nets, Counter Machines and parallel matching computations
For the classical family of languages recognized by Place-Transitions Petri Nets (or, equivalently, by Greibach’s quasirealtime partially blind counter machines), we propose a new implementation by means of matching finite-state computations, within the model of consensually regular languages (introduced by the authors). A Petri Net computation is mapped on multiple finite-states computations t...
متن کاملApplication of Skipsm to Binary Template Matching
An overview of SKIPSM (Separated-Kernel Image Processing using Finite State Machines), a powerful new way to implement many standard image processing operations, is presented in a companion paper.1 Other applications are presented in four other companion papers.2, 3, 4, 5 In comparison with conventional hardware-based and software-based approaches, SKIPSM allows implementation at higher speeds ...
متن کاملSkipsm : Separated - Kernel Image Processing Using Finite - State Machines
This paper presents a fundamentally new way to carry out many standard image processing operations. In comparison with conventional hardware-based and software-based approaches, SKIPSM (Separated-Kernel Image Processing using Finite State Machines) allows implementation at higher speeds and/or lower hardware cost. The key features of SKIPSM are • the separation of a large class of neighborhood ...
